Food chart of 6-12 months old baby


As I explained in my previous blog how to introduce solids to baby and things we need to take care during that time. You will notice as the day passes by baby get used to of solids food. This is a time when you should start following diet chart.

Following diet chart will help you in gaining confidence that you are providing whole nutritious food each day to your little one. And that's the biggest relief a mother can get. So let's have a look...


Breastmilk/Formula in Morning

Breakfast : Farex or cerelac weaning diet / rawa / ragi / dalia / oats


Breastmilk/Formula


Lunch : Rice or potato / sweet potato puree or Roti or Dalia along with Dal or chicken / mutton soup / Fish / Vegetables


Breastmilk/Formula


Evening : Boiled apple / boiled pear / banana / chickoo / mango and papaya mashed


Dinner : Rice or potato puree or roti or dalia along with dal / chicken soup or vegetables.


Breastmilk/Formula

Try to follow the above chart daily and some food for which you need to wait till your baby turn one are cow's milk, buffalo milk, eggs, honey, citrus fruits and nuts.


Few extra points

All main meals should be balanced : Carbs + protiens

You can put little bit ghee or home made butter in the above foods.

Keep giving water after each meal or anytime when he requires. You can give boiled and cooled water in starting.

Don't forget to sterilize the utensils in which you serve food and water.

Start finger food after 9 to 10 months.
