Just like other expecting ladies I also gone through many pregnancy magazines and did lots of net surfing. In the race of trying to know every thing about all nine months I found something very interesting and eye opening. And that is about pregnancy craving.
It is believed that pregnancy cravings are your body pinpointing which nutrients are needed to support the development and growth of your baby. But some experts believe that there is no link between craving and nutritional requirement. But in any case you should pay attention to your pregnancy craving and always try to grab something healthy. For healthy options of your pregnancy craving read ahead.

You're most likely to crave for ice-cream during second and third trimester. Instead of this try frozen yogurt as it delivers the nutrient with less sugar.

Many women crave for sour taste of lemon. Although it is a super source of Vitamin C but it can damages tooth enamel. So instead of eating whole lemon add a wedge to a glass of water and have it.
BRAZIL NUTS instead of CHOCOLATE

PUMPKIN SEEDS instead of ICE CUBE
Craving for ice has been linked to an iron deficiency. Nibbling on ice is good way to stay hydrated but along with this boost your iron intake with handful of pumpkin seeds which will also give you that satisfying crunch.
SPARKLING WATER instead of SODA
Instead of soda you can have sparkling water with fruit juice.
LENTILS instead of STEAK
Lean red meat is rich source of many nutrients mainly protein and iron. So you can have it but add lentils too in your diet as an alternative rich source of iron and protein.
MILK instead of SEAWEED
Seaweed is good source of iodine which is needed in your baby's development. So you can have it in moderation but milk is a good source of iodine.
Note: If your are craving for any other thing which is not a food like soil, chalk etc or large amount of ice, meet your doctor regarding this and make sure you are taking all the nutrients in your diet that you and your baby need.
